ABOUT THIS VALVE:
The suction control valve (SCV) regulates fuel supply to the high-pressure pump in Toyota D-4D common rail diesel systems. It controls fuel rail pressure based on ECU signals. When it fails, the engine loses the ability to maintain correct fuel pressure, causing hard starts, rough running, power loss, and fault codes. Most orders dispatched same day and delivered express Australia-wide.
COMMON SYMPTOMS OF A FAILING SUCTION CONTROL VALVE:
- Hard to start or will not start, especially when cold
- Engine starts then immediately stalls
- Rough idle or engine shuddering
- Loss of power under load or when accelerating
- Excessive black smoke from exhaust
- Increased fuel consumption
- Check Engine light on (fault codes P0087, P0088, P0093 common)
Note: Verify fitment using the OEM part number before ordering. The aluminium spacer plate is required for LandCruiser Prado KDJ120 and other early pump variants and is not required for KDJ150 and later applications. Refer to product images for connector and physical confirmation.

What are the symptoms of a failing fuel pressure sensor?
Symptoms include hard starting, stalling, poor fuel economy, hesitation under load, and fault codes P0190-P0194. Some vehicles will enter limp mode if fuel rail pressure cannot be confirmed by the ECU.
What is the difference between a fuel pressure sensor and a fuel pressure regulator?
A fuel pressure sensor monitors and reports fuel rail pressure to the ECU. A fuel pressure regulator controls and maintains fuel pressure at the correct level. They work together - a faulty sensor gives incorrect readings while a faulty regulator causes actual pressure problems.
What causes fuel injectors to fail?
Common causes include contaminated fuel, carbon buildup on the injector tip, worn internal seals, and general wear over high mileage. Symptoms of a failing injector include rough idle, misfires on one cylinder, fuel smell, and poor fuel economy.
