FITMENT CHECK

Count the pins on your old switch. This one is 2-pin for vans without cruise control. Vans with cruise control use the 4-pin switch 93810-3K000, which we list separately. Check the rubber stopper pad on the pedal arm too - if it has crumbled the new switch will not sit at the right height.

ABOUT THIS SWITCH

The stop light switch sits above the brake pedal in the footwell. When the pedal is pressed the plunger releases and the switch closes the circuit to the brake lights and the high-mount stop light above the rear doors.

On a working van the switch is cycled thousands of times a day in stop-start delivery driving, which is why the internal contacts wear out sooner than on a passenger car. A failed switch is a roadworthy fail and leaves following traffic with no warning when you brake.
