ABOUT THIS OIL SEAL

This seal sits at the transaxle end of the front driveshaft across every Rio generation, keeping transmission fluid contained while the shaft rotates freely - including the newer three-cylinder T-GDI models which use the same sealing design.

As it ages, fluid weeps past the seal lip and the transmission fluid level drops, risking gear wear and eventual transmission failure if left unaddressed.

Oil or transmission fluid pooling under the front of the vehicle near the driveshaft
Low transmission or transaxle fluid level with no other obvious leak source
