ABOUT THIS OIL SEAL

This seal sits where the front driveshaft enters the transaxle on both the AM and PS generation Soul, keeping transmission fluid contained while the shaft rotates freely.

As the sealing lip hardens or wears, fluid escapes past the shaft and the transmission fluid level drops, risking gear wear and eventual transmission failure if the leak goes unnoticed.

COMMON SYMPTOMS OF FAILURE

• Oil or transmission fluid pooling under the front of the vehicle near the driveshaft
• Low transmission or transaxle fluid level with no other obvious leak source
• Fluid residue or staining on the inner CV boot or driveshaft
