ABOUT THIS OIL SEAL

On the Accent's transaxle, this seal sits where the front driveshaft enters the gearbox casing, keeping transmission fluid inside while letting the shaft spin freely. Its anticlockwise rotation design matches the original Hyundai specification across both the MC and RB generations.

Once the sealing lip hardens or wears - common once a manual or auto Accent passes higher odometer readings - fluid escapes past the shaft and the transmission fluid level drops, risking gear wear and eventual transmission failure if the leak goes unnoticed.
