ABOUT THIS OIL SEAL

This seal sits where the front driveshaft enters the transmission or transfer case on the Tucson/ix35 platform, keeping fluid contained while the shaft rotates freely - the same design carried across JM, ix35 and TL/TLE generations.

Once the sealing lip wears, fluid escapes past the shaft and the fluid level drops, risking gear wear and eventual transmission failure if the leak goes unnoticed, especially on AWD CRDi variants under regular load.
