FITMENT CHECK

This is the EXHAUST-side valve (2-pin) for engines built from 01/2011. On the later Sonata LF, Optima JF, Sorento XM and Sportage QL, confirm your old valve reads 24375-2G500. Theta II engines use a separate intake-side valve (OEM 24355-2G500) - check which side has failed and confirm the part number on your old valve before ordering.

ABOUT THIS PART

The VVT solenoid is an oil control valve. The ECU pulses it to send oil pressure to the exhaust cam phaser, which advances or retards exhaust cam timing for power, economy and emissions.

The 2.0L G4KD in the Cerato TD is the same Theta II engine used in the Sportage SL and ix35. These Ceratos are now old enough that the exhaust VVT valve is a common replacement, especially on cars with patchy service history.
