FITMENT CHECK

This is the EXHAUST-side valve (2-pin) for engines built from 01/2011. On the later Sonata LF, Optima JF, Sorento XM and Sportage QL, confirm your old valve reads 24375-2G500. Theta II engines use a separate intake-side valve (OEM 24355-2G500) - check which side has failed and confirm the part number on your old valve before ordering.

1 x exhaust-side VVT oil control solenoid valve with 2-pin oval connector and seal ring.

ABOUT THIS PART

The VVT solenoid is an oil control valve. The ECU pulses it to send oil pressure to the exhaust cam phaser, which advances or retards exhaust cam timing for power, economy and emissions.

The 2.4L GDi G4KJ in later ix35s runs higher cam phasing demand than the port-injected engines, so a lazy exhaust valve shows up sooner as hesitation under load. On all ix35 engines the fix is the same 2-pin valve.
