ABOUT THIS THERMOSTAT

On the iLoad and iMax 2.4L petrol the thermostat regulates coolant flow to the front-mounted radiator. Commercial duty cycles - long idling, heavy loads and short trips - wear the wax element faster than in a passenger car.

An overheating G4KG under load risks a blown head gasket, so a thermostat replacement at the first sign of a rising gauge is cheap insurance for a working van.
