This throttle position sensor is a direct-fit replacement for Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VZJ90 and VZJ95 with the 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE engine. It replaces OEM number 89452-35020 - same 3-pin rectangular housing, same anticlockwise rotation, same calibration as the original unit.
The VZJ Prado V6 is a capable touring and family four-wheel drive. When the TPS signal degrades, the ECU loses its reference for throttle position - producing uneven idle, hesitation under acceleration, and unpredictable response during low-range off-road use. 3-pin rectangular connector. Anticlockwise rotation. Supplied without cable. 2 mounting bores. Calibrated to the OEM resistance specification for Toyota 89452-35020 across the full throttle sweep of the 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE.
The VZJ Prado's V6 delivers a wider torque spread than the 4-cylinder RZJ, and a degraded TPS signal here shows up first as an uneven idle or a flat spot right off idle before the V6 picks up cleanly.

What fault codes does a faulty TPS trigger?
A faulty throttle position sensor typically triggers codes P0120 to P0124. P0120 and P0121 indicate the TPS signal is out of range, P0122 and P0123 indicate the signal is too low or too high, and P0124 indicates an intermittent signal. On drive-by-wire vehicles additional codes related to the electronic throttle control system may also be present.
Can a faulty TPS cause my automatic transmission to shift incorrectly?
Yes. The ECU shares throttle position data with the transmission control module to determine when to upshift and downshift.
