The mass airflow (MAF) sensor on the Holden Captiva 3.2L V6 Alloytec is a hot-film air mass meter mounted between the air filter housing and the intake manifold. It measures the volume and temperature of air entering the engine and sends this data to the ECU, which uses it to calculate precise fuel injection quantity and timing. The Alloytec LU1 V6 is a GM-sourced engine shared across the Holden VE Commodore and Captiva platform - the sensor is cross-compatible across this engine family. Can I clean my MAF sensor instead of replacing it?
