The knock sensor is located on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold. Its function is to monitor engine operation to optimise performance. In addition, knock sensors protect the engine against power loss and engine knock.

On V6 engines, these sensors are located underneath the intake manifolds. We highly recommend replacing BOTH sensors (Left and Right Bank) at the same time to avoid paying for the same labor twice.
