ABOUT THIS SENSOR
The MAF sensor tells the ECU how much air is entering the engine so it can set the correct diesel fuel trim. A weak or dirty signal on the 2.2L Duratorq under-fuels or over-fuels the engine, which shows up first as a flat spot under load and eventually as a DPF regeneration problem from incorrect combustion.

Can I clean my MAF sensor instead of replacing it?
