ABOUT THIS SENSOR

The coolant temperature sensor monitors engine coolant temperature and sends a signal to the ECU. The ECU uses this data to adjust fuel injection timing, fuel mixture, idle speed, and ignition timing - especially critical during cold starts and warm-up.

This sensor uses an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor - resistance drops as temperature rises. A failed sensor sends an incorrect signal to the ECU, causing the engine to behave as if it is permanently cold or hot. This is a direct plug-in replacement with the OEM 4-pin square green connector.
