This is the 3-bar boost pressure MAP sensor for the Ford Transit VM with the 2.2L Duratorq QVFA engine from 2006 to 2010 and the 2.4L Duratorq H9FB engine from 2006 to 2011. Also suits European-spec Transit variants with 2.2 TDCi and 2.4 TDCi engines built up to 09/2011. Connector: 4-pin oval.

ABOUT THIS SENSOR

This is the boost pressure MAP sensor located on the charge air pipe between the turbocharger and the inlet. It measures manifold absolute pressure up to 3 bar and converts it to a signal the ECU uses to control fuelling and boost targets. On these Duratorq engines the unit also integrates an air temperature sensor - both functions handled by one plug-in component.

A failing 3-bar MAP sensor causes the ECU to lose accurate boost reference data. The Transit will typically log pressure-related fault codes and enter limp mode to protect the turbo and engine.
