ABOUT THIS SENSOR

The throttle position sensor monitors the angle of the throttle plate and sends a continuous signal to the ECU to determine correct fuel delivery and ignition timing.

On the Accent LC's G4EC-family and G4ED engines the resistive track wears fastest at the closed-throttle end of its travel, which is exactly where the car spends most of its time at idle and in traffic - so idle symptoms are usually the first sign of wear, well before anything shows up at higher throttle openings.
