ABOUT THIS SENDER
The coolant temperature sender is a single-wire thermistor that sends a resistance signal to the temperature gauge on your dashboard. It is distinct from the coolant temperature sensor which feeds the ECU. On Mitsubishi diesel engines the sender is typically threaded into the engine block or cylinder head near the thermostat housing.

How do I test a coolant temperature sensor?
