This coolant temp sensor is located in the lower radiator hose (or in the radiator) on most models. It sends coolant temperature to the ECU which controls the thermostat and electric auxiliary fan.

The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, often called ECT sensor or CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor), is a crucial component in a vehicle's engine management system. It measures the temperature of the engine coolant and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU) or the powertrain control module (PCM).
